It was recently announced that 2011 Batesville graduate, Chris Giesting, will be inducted into the 2023 class of the Indiana Track and Field Hall of Fame. Giesting was the 2011 IHSAA State
Champion in the 400-meter dash.
After high school, he attended Notre Dame. During his time there, he set indoor and outdoor school records in the 400-meter dash and was a 7X All-American. He also was a 2016 Olympic Trials qualifier.
The Indiana Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches will induct their 2023 class on June 24, 2023, with a free reception at the Indiana Track and Field Hall of Fame Museum at 1:00 pm, followed by the induction dinner and official induction at Idle Creek Golf Course Banquet Facilities in Terre Haute, Indiana.
