Statehouse — Gov. Eric Holcomb is home after he was admitted to the hospital Thursday for pneumonia.
The 54-year-old Governor went to the doctor thinking he had the flu but was admitted to the hospital as a precaution.
Holcomb became Indiana’s 51 Governor when he was elected in 2016.
He won re-election in 2020.

Statehouse — Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb’s office announced Friday afternoon that he has been admitted to the hospital with a case of pneumonia.
“Gov. Holcomb went to the doctor Thursday afternoon thinking it was the flu, but he was diagnosed with pneumonia,” Erin Murphy, press secretary for Gov. Holcomb, said in a written statement. “Out of an abundance of caution he was admitted to the hospital and he’s responding well to treatment.”
Holcomb had planned to present an award on Friday, but the ceremony was postponed.
Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch issued the following statement:
“I’ve been in contact with his staff today, and it’s good to hear the Governor is resting well and responding to treatment. I will be praying for a speedy recovery for him,” Crouch said.
Holcomb became Indiana’s 51st Governor when he was elected in 2016.
The 54-year-old Holcomb won re-election in 2020.
