The 7th Grade Middle school Boys traveled to North Decatur Middle School where they came up short in a tough contest with a score of 28-35. The score was back and forth all game with Batesville taking an early lead of 6-0 in the 1st and the chargers ended the quarter on a run and tied the game. Bulldogs played tough defensively, hit a three-point late to tie the game, and found north Decatur closing out the half with points to take a 3-point lead. The second half was just like the first half back and forth where the bulldogs finally found some rhythm on the offensive side and outscored the Chargers 11-5 to end the third quarter 23-20. With 2 minutes left and the game tied the Chargers hit a layup to take the lead and the Bulldogs could never recover and would eventually lose by 7.
Leading the Bulldogs in scoring was Carson Meyer with 15, Levi Hunt with 6, Jackson Peetz with 5, and Camden Kaiser with 5. The Bulldogs are now 5-4 on the season. The Bulldogs will be back in action on Thursday at home against Lawcenburg and then on the Road at Waldron on Saturday.
