Southeastern IN — You’ve no doubt heard the area has been under Red Flag Warnings and Elevated Fire Dangers lately – in part because of dry conditions.
However, Southeastern Indiana is not officially in a drought.
A map released by the U.S. Drought Monitor shows that Ripley, Franklin, Decatur, and Dearborn counties are classified as abnormally dry (pictured).
Most of Southern and Southwestern Indiana, parts of the eastern central area of the state, and much of Northwestern Indiana are in a drought.
