Decatur County, IN — A Greensburg man who entered into a plea agreement on gun and drug charges was handed a 12-year sentence on Monday.
Noah Goreham was sentenced by Judge Matthew Bailey in Decatur Superior Court to seven and a half years in prison, with the remaining four and a half years suspended to supervised probation.
Goreham was charged and convicted on one count of Possession of a Handgun without a Permit While Having a Previous Felony Conviction (Level 5 felony) and Dealing in a Controlled Substance (Level 6 felony).
Court documents say Goreham also admitted to Being a Habitual Offender based on prior felony convictions.
Decatur County Prosecutor Nate Harter recognized Greensburg Police Officers Kaitlin Jackowicz, Peyton Gerkin, Matt Terkhorn, and Sgt. Chris Bridges for their work on this case.
“Mr. Goreham expressed a desire to take responsibility for his actions from his very first day in court. Paired with his candor in explaining his actions, I believe the plea agreement accurately reflects Mr. Goreham’s desire to stop living in the world of firearms and narcotics,” Harter said. “I am grateful to the anonymous tipster who provided valuable information, and to the officers who actively tracked Mr. Goreham down despite being aware he was likely armed.”
