From Angie Ehrman, 7th Grade Coach:The BMS 7th grade volleyball team won an exciting and close game to win the SEI tournament against Greendale 25-24, 25-20. Both games were close the entire game. Either team could have won, but the Bulldogs played tough & played well to put out the Thrilling win. Top scorers were Katie Wilhelm with 7 points including 5 aces. Leah Meyer & Ellie Walke both had 6 points with 1 ace. Jersey Trenkamp and 3 points with 2 aces. While Madi Dierkman and Molly Gesell both chipped in 2 points with 1 ace. The front row was aggressive against the Tigers. Molly Gesell had 4 kills. Jersey Trenkamp, Katie Wilhelm, and Leah Meyer all had 2 kills. Madi Dierckman and Jolene Dirkhising each had a kill in the win. Abby Miller and Isabelle Meyer had exceptional passing. While Cora Miller, Isabelle Meyer, Payton Yorn and Marley Denning all contributed to the win. Way to go girls!!!

The BMS 8th Grade Team completed the Lady Bulldog sweep by defeating East Central in the championship game. Scores were 25-12; 25-7. This is this team’s 2nd SEI Championship and undefeated season in their young volleyball careers. Wow, what an outstanding accomplishment! The future is VERY BRIGHT for Batesville Volleyball!
Caitlyn Fox hit all 12 of her serves to earn 9 points with 3 aces. Mimi Smith went 7 for 7 with 6 points including 2 aces, while Ella King served out set 2 with 6 consecutive service points. Leigh Hertel earned 6 points including 3 aces. Madilyn Meyer was 4 for 4 serving with 3 points, while Alexis Gallagher, Ella Weber, and Maddie Haskamp chipped in with 2 points each.
Maddie Haskamp pounded an impressive 7 kills in 10 spikes to lead the team. Sydney Campbell and Brooke Wilhelm were each 8 for 9 at the net with 2 kills. Caitlyn Fox and Katie Wirth were 5 for 6 with 2 kills each. Ella King and Ellie Westerfeld both had 2 kills in the front line. Mimi Smith, Eliza Weiler, Alexis Gallagher, Leigh Hertel, and Madilyn Meyer were top notch on defense, while Caitlyn Fox, Brooke Wilhelm, and Ella Weber set up the powerful bulldog attack that put East Central out of system all match. What a great night for these talented players and Bulldog Volleyball! Congratulations to both teams on your outstanding performances and your SEI tourney championships!
