The 7th grade had a solid win against Benjamin Rush last night: 25-5, 25-7. The back row did a great job getting passes to the setters. Back row players are Abby Miller, Cora Miller, Isabel Meyer, Payton Yorn, and Marley Denning. From the front row Molly Gesell dominated with 7 kills. Jersey Trenkamp and 2 kills. And Leah Meyer and Ellie Walke each had a kill. Jolene Dirkhising also played well at the net. Top servers were Madi Dierckman with 29 points including 12 aces. Jersey Trenkamp and Katie Wilhelm each had 3 service points. Payton Yorn chipped in 2 points; both aces. And Leah Meyer and Molly Gesell each had a point. The team is now 9-2.
The BMS 8th Grade Volleyball Team recorded an impressive 25-2; 25-14 win over Benjamin Rush. Caitlyn Fox scored 11 straight points in set 1 including 6 aces. Mimi Smith earned 8 points with 2 aces, while Maddie Haskamp had 7 service points including 4 aces. Ella Weber scored 6 points including 3 aces to start set 2, while Brooke Wilhelm and Leigh Hertel chipped in with 5 and 4 points respectively. Brooke Wilhelm and Ella King were the top attackers earning 5 kills each. Maddie Haskamp was aggressive with 4 kills. Leigh Hertel, Katie Wirth, and Madilyn Meyer each had a kill with Meyer’s coming from a back row swing. The team’s record improves to 11-0. The Bulldogs will travel to Jennings County tonight.
