DECATUR COUNTY, IN — Several agencies and medical helicopters responded to a two-vehicle accident at the entrance to the Westport Dam at West County Road 1100 South and Layton Drive just before 4:30 Tuesday afternoon.
One patient was taken by ambulance to Decatur County Memorial Hospital, then transferred by IU Lifeline helicopter to an Indianapolis trauma center.
A second victim was taken by ambulance to the Greensburg airport, then airlifted to an Indianapolis facility.
A third patient was flown from the scene to Indianapolis for treatment.
One of the drivers involved in the crash was not hurt.
Responding agencies included the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office, Letts Fire Department, Decatur County EMS, Westport Fire Department, the City of Greensburg Fire Department, Westport Police, and Indiana State Police.
Decatur County Communications took 9-1-1 calls and coordinated the response, while Sweets Towing handled vehicle recovery.
