BROOKVILLE, IN — The Brookville Police Department, which has been without a K9 unit for the past five years, has surpassed the $4,000 fundraising goal to reacquire the community asset.

That means Police Chief Terry Mitchum will “take one for the team.”

Mitchum offered to be publicly tased if the fundraising goal was reached. The goal was met in two days, which means Chief Mitchum will be tased during the 2nd annual Brookville Police Department Golf Outing on October 8.

Donors are being invited to witness the tasing in person. The event will also be live-streamed on the Brookville Police Department Facebook page.

Donations are still being taken on a Go Fund Me set up by Mitchum.

All proceeds go directly to the Brookville Police Department K9 Fund.
