Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Paul H. Rohe Company now plans to close S.R. 229 between Boehringer and Shrader streets on Monday, July 11.
The work was originally scheduled to start next Monday, June 27.
The road is expected to be closed for approximately five days while the work is taking place.
The official detour will follow West Pearl, Mulberry, and Mitchell to State Road 46.
Semi traffic should avoid this detour and use an alternate route.
This work is part of a $1.5 million contract that includes patching, milling, and paving S.R. 229, south of S.R. 46.
INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, avoid distractions and stay aware of workers and equipment.
