Mr. Jeremy Ryan Acree

Mr. Jeremy Ryan Acree, aka “Forrest Gump of Mt. Sterling,” age 42, of Mt. Sterling, Indiana, entered this life on July 14, 1979 in Louisville, Kentucky. He was the son of, Robert “Bubby” Lloyd Acree and Carol Ann (Spratt) Elkins. He was raised in Henry County, Kentucky where he attended high school. Jeremy was united in marriage on April 18, 2015 to Amanda Catheryn Baker in Taylorsville, Kentucky. This union was blessed with two children, Whitney Renee and Cole Ryan Acree. Jeremy was employed in construction for Devin Scudder for several years. He later owned and operated his construction business and remodeled houses for several years. He was later employed as a heavy equipment operator for Phoenix Services at North American Stainless in Ghent, Kentucky for one year. Jeremy attended Mt. Sterling Baptist Church in Mt. Sterling, Indiana. Jeremy’s biggest blessing and pride and joy were his children. He loved anything John Deere and Carhartt. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, camping, mowing yards, camp fires and his dog, Wiggles. He also enjoyed tinkering on things, working on houses and building. Jeremy passed away at 5:00 p.m., Friday, June 10, 2022, at the Norton King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana.

Jeremy is survived by his companion, Amanda Catheryn (Baker) Acree of Mt. Sterling, IN; his children, Whitney Renee and Cole Ryan Acree of Mt. Sterling, IN; his mother, Carol Ann (Spratt) Elkins of LaGrange, KY; his maternal-grandmother, Angela Spratt of Louisville, KY; his sister, Jennifer Sparks and her husband, Stan of Shelbyville, KY; his nephews and nieces, Kenneth Sparks, Seth Wilkinson and Haley Sparks and his several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert “Bubby” Lloyd Acree; his paternal-grandparents, Achie Pauline Acree and Charles William Acree; his maternal-grandfather, Kenneth Landon Spratt.

Jeremy’s wishes were to be cremated. No services are being held at this time.
