There was some 3A-29 baseball played Saturday in Rushville. The first of three games saw Greensburg beat Lawrenceburg 5-4 in the bottom of the seventh. Freshman Joey Everroad hit a walk-off, two-RBI double for the victory.
In game two, Franklin County defeated the host Lions 11-3. The Wildcats scored six times in the fifth to take a commanding 9-0 lead.

In game three, Batesville avenged the loss handed down by South Dearborn during the regular season finale. The Bulldogs beat the Knights 4-1.
It was a scoreless affair through five innings until the Dogs took advantage of an SD error which led to two runs. Max Baumer’s seventh inning double was Batesville’s only RBI. Jack Grunkemeyer had two of the team’s six hits.
The Willoughby brothers, Ryan and Reese, both had doubles for the Knights. Reese knocked in a run with his.
Grunkemeyer pitched 5-1/3 innings with five strikeouts in the win. BHS teammate Dime Adams tossed the final 1-2/3 with two Ks for the save.
Monday’s lineup in Rushville is this: Connersville and Greensburg play at 10 am, Franklin County and Batesville follow at 1 pm, then the winners face off for the championship at 8 pm. You can hear the title game on WRBI beginning at 7:45 pm.
