SEYMOUR, IN — The driver of a vehicle involved in a rollover crash in March 2022 near Seymour that resulted in her passengers suffering serious injuries was arrested on charges related to the crash.
Indiana State Police say on March 15 at around 4:30 pm, a silver 2012 Hyundai driven by 20-year-old Dakota S. Mott of Seymour crashed in the 6600 Block of North County Road 760 East near Seymour.
All three passengers of the vehicle, 15-year-old Isaiah Bogard; 17-year-old Kathryn Roy, and 18-year-old Zackery Stout were ejected from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries.
The investigation by Troopers with the Indiana State Police-Versailles Crash Reconstruction Team included having Mott submit to toxicology tests.
An examination of the car was conducted which included having the crash data recorder in the vehicle analyzed.
State Police say the toxicology results on Mott showed she was operating under the influence of marijuana, and that the vehicle examination indicated that Mott’s car was going more than 95 miles per hour at the time of the crash.
The investigation was presented to the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office which resulted in Mott being charged with Operating While Intoxicated Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury and Reckless Driving Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury.
Mott was arrested and booked in the Jackson County Jail.

SEYMOUR, IN — Indiana State Police began investigating a single-vehicle crash near Seymour Tuesday afternoon that resulted in all four occupants being injured.
Two of the occupants were airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital with serious and possibly life-threatening injuries.
At around 4:30 pm Tuesday, Troopers from the Indiana State Police-Versailles Post and Deputies with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 6600 Block of North County Road 760 East, just north of Seymour in Jackson County.
The initial investigation by Troopers with the Indiana State Police-Versailles Crash Reconstruction Team indicated that a silver 2012 Hyundai passenger car, being driven by 20-year-old Dakota S. Mott of Seymour was traveling southbound on County Road 760 East.
For an unknown reason, Mott lost control of the vehicle.
The vehicle left the west side of the roadway before rolling multiple times and coming to a stop.
As a result of the vehicle rolling, three passengers in the vehicle, 15-year-old Isaiah Bogard, 17-year-old Kathryn Roy, and 18-year-old Zackery Stout, all of Seymour, were ejected from the vehicle.
Mott was transported to Schneck Medical Center in Seymour for treatment of her injuries.
Bogard was flown to an Indianapolis area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
Roy was flown to an Indianapolis area hospital with serious injuries.
Stout was transported by ambulance to an Indianapolis area hospital with serious injuries.
It is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
Investigators believe that speed was a factor in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
Troopers with the Indiana State Police were assisted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County EMS, the Redding Township Fire Department, Stat Flight Medical Helicopter, and Hampton Towing.
