Beulah Marie Wessel, beloved wife of the late Howard Wessel. Bea, as she liked to be called, was born April 27, 1929 to Walter and Gladys (Forman) Clark. She passed away December 14, 2021 at the age of 92. Bea is survived by her daughters Janet Scheyer of Cincinnati, OH, Sandy (Bruce) Dalton of Batesville, IN, Linda (Bill) Nicholson of Lawrenceburg, KY, and Pam (Mike LeTourneau) Hursh of Indianapolis, IN. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Bea was predeceased by her husband, Howard; her daughters Louise and Judy plus her brothers Walter, Raymond, and Gilbert.
Bea’s personal accomplishments include being a member of the Mensa Society. She was also a Daughter of the American Revolution, having an ancestor who fought at Yorktown. She contributed to many causes, and gave her of time to volunteer at Margaret Mary Hospital, and helping adults learn to read in order to better themselves. She was a volunteer with CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, as well as directing the choir at church for a time. One final gift Beulah and Howard gave was to science as they donated their bodies to the College of Medicine at the University of Cincinnati.
Her Celebration of Life will be on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at 2:00 pm at St John’s United Church of Christ on Huntersville Road in Batesville. Please plan to join us after the service for birthday cake and snacks as we celebrate what would have been her 93rd birthday.
