Mr. Miles Harold “Buster” Swanson, age 83, of Rising Sun, Indiana, entered this life on January 12, 1939 in Switzerland County, Indiana. Buster was one of nine children born to the parents of, Henry Jonas Swanson, Sr. and Helen Elizabeth (White) Swanson. He was raised in Switzerland County and was a 1959 graduate of the Vevay High School. Buster was a former night watchman for Cochran Chair Factory in Aurora, Indiana for one year. He helped on the family farm raising tobacco. Buster was a member of the Grants Creek Baptist Church in Switzerland County, Indiana. He enjoyed playing guitar and sketching in his free time. He loved socializing with his friends and eating breakfast at Jack’s Restaurant in Rising Sun, Indiana. There were not many foods Buster wouldn’t eat, except when it came to tomato soup! He found great enjoyment writing gospel songs. Buster loved his Lord and Savior and read his Bible faithfully every day. The family was blessed to learn valuable lessons from their Uncle Buster and he always kept his nieces and nephews in line! Buster resided the past 30 years in the Rising Sun community. Buster went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, April 1, 2022, at The Water’s of Rising Sun in Rising Sun, Indiana.
Buster is survived by his sisters, Sharon Harlow of Rising Sun, IN, Shirley Cook of Lawrenceburg, IN and Ramona Titkemeyer Bartlett of Plant City, FL; his sisters-in-law, Alice Swanson of Lansing, MI and Daisy Swanson of Bennington, IN and his several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Jonas Swanson, Sr. and Helen Elizabeth (White) Swanson; his sister, Gloria Swanson; his brothers, Henry “Hank” Swanson, Jr., Kenneth S. Swanson, Sr., Sanford Swanson and Carroll Frederick “Buddy” Swanson; his niece, Jodi Nicole (McClellan) Rowekamp and his nephew, Jeremy Dale Knigga.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 15, 2022, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 16, 2022, by Pastor Patrick Bujak, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Luncheon will be held after the funeral service at the Grants Creek Baptist Church, 14685 Lower Grants Creek Road, Rising Sun, Indiana 47040.
Interment will follow in the New Liberty Cemetery, East Enterprise, Indiana.
