BATESVILLE, IN — The Batesville Memorial Public Library is going fine-free, starting Friday, April 1.
“We will no longer be adding overdue fines to your materials,” said Library Executive Director Kim Porter. “That doesn’t mean that your materials won’t be overdue in that if you don’t return them, then you will incur costs for replacement of the items. And there are also some specialty items such as hotspots that will still incur fines.
“But other than that, library materials that you check out from the Batesville library will not incur overdue fines,” she added.
Porter says they’re also handing out “We Love Our Library” yard signs as part of “National Library Week,” which begins Monday, April 4.
