Dois (Pollard) Givan, 86, of Greendale, Indiana, passed away Friday, March 25, 2022, in Lawrenceburg, IN.
She was born July 13, 1935, in Blue Diamond, KY, daughter of the late Hagar Pollard and Rachel (Campbell) Pollard.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Aurora, where she previously served as Secretary and Treasurer. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International (professional society for women educators).
She was a dedicated educator, who impacted many lives in Southeastern Indiana during her 30 years of teaching in the South Dearborn School Corporation. She left an impact that will live on forever. She enjoyed traveling with Larry ( husband of 61 years). They enjoyed vacationing in Myrtle Beach, SC. and Branson, MO. Dois will be missed by family, church family and many friends.
Dois is survived by her loving sons, Mark (Lee Anne Neary) Givan of Lexington, KY, Michael (Heidi Bettcher) Givan of Carmel, IN; brother, William (Ruth) Pollard; identical twin sister, Lois (Charles) Henson; grandchildren, Joel (Kelly) Givan, Alex (Lizzy) Givan, Drew (Erin) Givan, Jameson Givan, Grayson Givan, and Peyton Givan; great grandchildren, Finley, Ruby, Noble, Felix, Tatum, Lincoln and Milo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hagar and Rachel Pollard; husband, Larry Givan; siblings, Faye (Charles) Kinnett, Randy (Bobbie Jane) Pollard, Otto (Betty) Pollard, Chalmer (Mary Ann) Pollard.
Friends will be received Thursday, March 31, 2022, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Aurora, 6060 Blair Road, Aurora, IN
Services will be held at the Church, Thursday at 2:00 pm with Pastor Bill Secrest officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Sinai Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.
