The NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament begins Tuesday while the women’s tourney starts Wednesday. Here are the opening game pairings with dates, times and locations for regional programs:
Men’s pairings…
- Indiana plays a First Four game against the Cowboys of Wyoming Tuesday at 9:10 pm in Dayton. Both are 12 seeds.
- Notre Dame and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, a pair of 11 seeds, also play a First Four game in Dayton at 9:10 pm Wednesday.
- Second seeded Kentucky meets the 15th seeded Peacocks of St. Peter’s Thursday at 7:10 pm up in Indy.
- Seventh seeded Ohio State faces the 10th seeded Ramblers (and Sister Jean) of Loyola Chicago Friday in Pittsburgh at 12:15 pm.
- Third seeded Purdue battles the 14th seeded Bulldogs of Yale Friday at 2 pm.
Women’s pairings…
- Dayton has a First Four game with fellow 11 seed, the DePaul Blue Demons, at 9 pm Wednesday in Ames, Iowa.
- Top seeded Louisville hosts the 16th seeded Albany Great Danes Friday at 6 pm.
- Third seeded Indiana also gets a home game against the 14th seeded Charlotte 49ers Saturday at 1:30 pm.
- Sixth seeded Ohio State hosts a First Four winner, either Missouri State or Florida State, Saturday at 2:30 pm in Baton Rouge.
- Sixth seeded Kentucky tries the 11th seeded Princeton Tigers at 4 pm Saturday in Bloomington.
- Fifth seeded Notre Dame plays the 12th seeded Minutewomen of UMass in Norman, Oklahoma Saturday at 7:30 pm.
- Thirteenth seeded IUPUI faces the fourth seeded Oklahoma Sooners, also in Norman, Saturday at 10 pm.
