Greensburg man arrested on attempted murder, battery on police charges

GREENSBURG, IN — A 48-year-old Greensburg man is facing several felony counts, including attempted murder and battery on a police officer, following his arrest on North West Street Monday afternoon.

Greensburg Police say Christopher Darrin Allen faces preliminary charges of Attempted Murder (Level 1 felony), Aggravated Battery (Level 3 felony), and Battery on Law Enforcement (Level 5 felony).

Authorities say the investigation into this matter is ongoing and there is no continuing danger to the public.

In a press release from Greensburg Assistant Police Chief Brandon Meyer, GPD thanked the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office and Decatur County EMS for their assistance in the investigation.

Meyer also issued the following statement:

“Pursuant to Indiana Rule of Professional Conduct 3.6, there is no further information available at this time, and there will be no further comment from this office while an investigation or criminal case is pending.”
