Janet Louise Maple, 85, of Greensburg passed away on March 4, 2022. She was born on March 2, 1937 in Decatur County, Indiana the daughter of Bertis and Rheba Kemper Parmer. Janet was a 1955 graduate of New Point High School. She married James Maple on November 24, 1955 at the Methodist Church in Batesville and together they had two children Steven and Sheryl. Janet was a member of the Greensburg United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star. She worked at First Bank and Trust in Greensburg; Billings Elementary School and the Greensburg Junior High, as a secretary; the Decatur County Auditor’s Office; and she retired from the Water Office.
Survivors include: Husband, James Maple; Children, Steven (Diane) Maple and Sheryl (Curt) Hackney; Grandchildren, Jenni Maple, Amy Maple, Katie Hackney, and Cameron Hackney; Sister, Doris Ann Fields and Brother, Richard Parmer. She was preceded in death by her Parents.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 12:30 pm until the time of the funeral at 2:00 pm. at the Greensburg United Methodist Church. Rev. Chris Stevens will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Rossburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Greensburg United Methodist Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
