Local Congressman reacts to Russian invasion of Ukraine

SOUTHEASTERN IN —  Congressman Greg Pence (R-IN 06) is reacting to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

He says it is heartbreaking to see what is happening to the Ukrainian people.

“But I think the United States is doing the right, particularly with the financial sanctions, and we need to get them where it hurts. That’s all there is to it,” said Pence.

The Congressman, who serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, says he’s keeping an eye on how this will affect agriculture.

Pence says 40 percent of the world’s potash comes from eastern Ukraine.

And, of course, there’s oil.

“Both of those things are going to force inflation up even more as we go forward,” he added. “And we’ve got to hit them hard on the financial side. I’m glad to see that the (Biden) Administration finally took some steps in that direction”

Congressman Pence appeared on Monday’s edition of The Daily Pod on WRBI.
