Donna June Miller, 65 years old, of Batesville, formerly of Sunman, passed away with her children by her side on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 in Punta Gorda, Florida. Donna and her beloved dog, Sadie, flew to Florida to visit friends when she became ill.
Donna was born June 11, 1956, and was a graduate of Batesville High School class of 1974. Donna was a special woman who knew no stranger. She worked for many years as a lead computer operator at Hill-Rom before filing for disability due to heart problems. She also loved to do ceramics, and ran a ceramic shop, Family Ceramics, out of her garage in Sunman for many years. She loved to crochet and do cross stitch and embroidery. She was very crafty and loved to share her craft with others. She also loved to bake and her annual Christmas cookie baking day will never be the same, as she never let anyone else mix the batter.
You could normally find Donna with her grandchildren and children as they were always together. Donna loved to watch her grandchildren do the things they loved. You would find her in the spring at the baseball and softball fields, the football fields, robotics and archery competitions, and band/choir concerts. She will always be known as the woman who had everything and was willing to share it with anyone and everyone. Donna loved to play bingo at Saint Louis, especially Super Sunday and made many longtime friends there.
Donna will be deeply missed by her daughter, Kristina (Ross) Hartman, son, Nicholas Miller, daughter-in-law Megan (Brian) Maynard, and her grandchildren Nicholas Miller Jr., Makiha Miller, Zackery Hartman, Makenna Hartman, and honorary grandson Dalton Hornberger, all of Sunman. She also leaves one sister, Linda (Conley) Beard of Oldenburg, as well as many nieces and nephews, as her late husband David L. Miller had 11 brothers and sisters.
Donna and David were married September 1, 1979 and he preceded her in death September 23, 2009. She is also preceded in death by her father, Harry Williamson, mother, Marian Kessens, dad, Milton Kessens, and brother, Dale Williamson.
Donna was a momma and mammaw to her loved ones, but a surrogate mom and grandma to so many others. Everyone that knew Donna well will tell you that she was their best friend.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with funeral services officiated by Fr. Whittington beginning at 1:00 PM all at Meyers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Sunman.
Memorials can be given to the Sunman American Legion Post 337 by bringing to the services or mailing to Meyers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 202, Batesville, IN 47006.
Please feel free to leave a memory or a message of comfort for Donna’s family in the online guestbook.
