Lois Ann Stainbrook, 72, of Austin, passed away at 1:10 p.m. on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Thornton Terrace Health Campus in Hanover. She was born on August 20, 1949 in Shelbyville, the daughter of Howard and Norma (Perry) Stainbrook. She was raised in Shelby and Jennings Counties and was a member of the Austin Pilgrim Holiness Church.
Lois enjoyed reading, coloring, puzzle books, baking, trips to go shopping, playing the piano and napping. She loved butterflies, angels, and dolls.
Survivors include her sisters, Naomi (Alva) Catt of Shelbyville and Ruth (Gary) Shawhan of Oxford, Florida; her brothers, Daniel Stainbrook of Shelbyville, Phil (Sue) Stainbrook of Westport, and David Stainbrook of Austin; her nieces, Charity (Jon) Christie, Vashti (Chad) Cramer, Rebekah (Kyle) Sphire, Jennifer Shawhan, Donna (Chris) Shawhan; her nephews, Alva (Amanda) Catt, Jay (Jessika) Stainbrook, Tim (Nancy) Stainbrook, Michael (Randi) Catt, Perry (Becky) Stainbrook, Ben (Emilee) Stainbrook, Matt Stainbrook, Nathan (Jennifer) Stainbrook. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Samuel Jon Stainbrook.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 25, 2022 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the Rock Creek Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. We ask visitors to follow social distancing guidelines once inside the funeral home and masks are recommended.
