Lonnie E. Hubbard, 92, of Moores Hill, Indiana, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022, at his home in Mt. Sinai surrounded by family. He was born June 20, 1929, in Aurora, IN, son of the late Romie “R.B.” Hubbard and Clara (Pruett) Hubbard. He married the love of his life Henrietta Witte on April 14, 1950. They spent 45 wonderful years together.
Lonnie was a lifelong farmer and worked at Schenley Distillery, retiring after over 20 years of service. Lonnie also worked at the feeder auction helping to sort the pigs in preparation for the coming sale.He was a member of the Antique Tractor Club.
He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist church, a former member of Olive Branch Baptist Church. Lonnie was very active within the church, where he served as a Deacon, Sunday school superintendent, as well as several other positions. He supported the Gideons Bible Outreach. Lonnie was active for many years with the Laughery Valley Men’s Brotherhood.
Lonnie is survived by his children, Sharon Martin of Versailles, IN, Sandy Ward of Bear Branch, IN, Dr. Steven (Diana) Hubbard of Bright, IN, Sonia (David) Barnes of Avon, IN; grandchildren, Jackie Reinecke, Jim Martin, Andrea Ward, Krista Hauswald, Heather Sturgeon, Kirk Hubbard, Rae Anna Reason, & Josh Barnes; great-grandchildren: Tucker, Hudson, & Grady Berlien, Jahlee, Jack & Javis Reinecke, Cooper & Piper Hauswald, Gracie & Eli Sturgeon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, R.B. and Clara; wife, Henrietta Hubbard; sons-in-law, Danny Ward & Jack Martin; siblings: Geneva Siekerman, Wilbur Hubbard, & Mary Alford.
Friends will be received Thursday, February 10, 2022, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, 16393 St. Rd. #148, Aurora, Indiana.
Services will be held at the church on Friday at 11:00 am with Pastor Sherman Hughes officiating.
Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.
