Mr. Timothy Wayne Cloat, age 62, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on March 6, 1959 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the son of the late, LeeRoy Cloat and Juanita (Sanders) Widener. He graduated from Switzerland County High School in 1978. Timothy enlisted into the United States Army on July 11, 1976 in Louisville, Kentucky. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army Reserves with the rank of Specialist 4th Class on July 20, 1981 at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Tim was inducted into the Unites States Marine Corps on April 23, 1982 in Louisville, Kentucky. He specialized as a heavy vehicle operator for three years and seven months. He received the Meritorious Mast, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation Medal, Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal and the Letter of Commendation. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal on April 22, 1986. Tim was employed for the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Indiana for 10 years. He was later employed as a correctional officer for the Indiana Department of Corrections in Pendleton, Indiana for 20 years. He was later employed as a machine operator for Mubea in Florence, Kentucky for 1 year, 3 months, retiring in March 2021. He was a member of the VFW Post #1969 and the VFW Riders in Madison, Indiana. Timothy participated in the Miracle Ride for Riley Children’s Hospital fundraiser. Tim enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, grilling out, baking and cooking. Tim passed away from complications due to COVID-19 at 5:20 p.m., Friday, January 28, 2022 at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky.
Timothy will be missed by his sisters, Tawonna (Donald, Jr.) Konkle of East Enterprise, IN and Melinda Cloat of Vevay, IN and his several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, LeeRoy Cloat; his mother, Juanita Louis (Sanders) Widener and his brother, Richard Lee Cloat.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 7, 2022, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, February 7, 2022, at 1:00 p.m., by Bro. Barker, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment and full military rites will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Madison, Indiana.
