STATEWIDE — All 92 counties remain in Red on the state’s COVID metrics map for a second straight week, thanks to the Omicron variant – which state health officials say accounts for nearly 88 percent of all cases across Indiana.
The Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) on Wednesday reported 5,536 new cases with 129 deaths.
Locally, Dearborn County had 74 new cases; Ripley County reported 64 cases and two deaths; Decatur County had 40 cases, and Franklin County reported 25 positives and one death.
IDOH’s dashboard indicates the state’s seven-day all-test positivity rate is 30.5 percent, which is up from a low of 26 percent earlier this week.
