Mr. George “Hank” Milam, age 77, of Patriot, Indiana, passed away at 7:33 p.m., Sunday, January 23, 2022 at his residence. Hank was raised in Bowling Green, Kentucky and was the son of the late, Eldridge Milam and Margarita (Hopkins) Brooks. He attended Bowling Green High School and was later inducted into the United States Marine Corps on February 3, 1964 in Louisville, Kentucky. He received the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Rifle Expert Badge. He served one year, seven months and six days overseas and was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal on February 2, 1970. From 1973-2017, Hank was a self-employed master carpenter in the Cincinnati, Ohio community. Hank resided in the Loveland, Ohio community from 1976-1987 and later moved to the Patriot, Indiana community where he resided until his passing. Hank will be remembered for his love of riding his motorcycle, shooting guns, playing pool, as well as, rescuing dogs and cats. Hank was very creative and enjoyed woodworking.
Hank will be remembered by his companion of 20 years, Cyndy Jo Riley of Patriot, IN; his son, David Milam and his wife, Kelly of Loveland, OH; his daughter, Margie Grothaus of Independence, KY; his grandchildren, Trask Sharp, Kaid Milam, Kobi-D Milam, Tiffany Milam-Tapp, Corey Grothaus and Alana Grothaus; his great-grandchildren, Kanon Sharp, Karlee Milam, Kyson Milam and Kiara Tapp; his half-brothers, Donnie and Butch Milam and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldridge Milam and Margarita (Hopkins) Brooks; his great-grandson, Zayne Osborne; his brother, Eldridge Milam, Jr.; his sister, Mary Helen Storm; his half-sisters, Alice Fay Skilling and Debbie Milam; his half-brother, Billy Milam and his step-father, Edward Brooks.
A Celebration of Hank’s Life will be held at the convenience of the family.
