Millard Eugene “Speed” House

Millard Eugene “Speed” House, 93, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022.

He was born November 12, 1928, in Dearborn County, IN, son of the late George William House and Iva (Burris) House.

He was a former member of Aurora Moose and Eagles.

Speed worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He started managing the Lawrenceburg Lumber Company, which led him to construction, excavating, and logging.

He enjoyed farming cattle and being outdoors. Speed didn’t know a stranger, he loved to talk and socialize. He enjoyed taking Sooner and Little Rat on drives, they loved it. He owned the Cottage Bar for many years, as well as the Aurora Taxi. Speed started the House Used Cars and operated a Sinclair Gas Station. He also worked as a security guard for Allied. In his younger years he also served as a Justice of the Peace. Speed was a family man and he will be greatly missed.

Millard is survived by his loving spouse of 51 years, Ann (Lange) House; children, Wayne (Naomi) House of Aurora, IN, Susan (Glenn “Mousey”) Lyons of Aurora, IN, Mike (Diane) House of Aurora, IN, Eric (Diana) House of Aurora, IN; step-son, Steve Weimer of Dillsboro, IN; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Iva; son, Dale House; grandson, Andrew House; siblings, Charlotte Fry, Delmar House, Wilma Hamblin, John House.

Friends will be received Friday, January 28, 2022, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana.

Services will be held at the funeral home at 2:00 pm.

Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.
