In a make-up boys varsity basketball game heard Monday on the Sports Voice, Oldenburg got its second win of the season. The Twisters defeated Morristown, on the road, 44-27.
Of the 71 points scored by the two clubs, a total of 41 came from two different players. The Yellow Jackets Nolan Laster finished with 21 and OA’s C.J. Grote scored 20.
The Twisters recorded the game’s first seven points and led 9-5 at the quarter. A 10-0 run in the second stanza gave Oldenburg a double-digit lead which it enjoyed the rest of the night. It was 22-9 at intermission and 31-20 after three.
For the game, the windy ones hit 45 percent from the floor and held the stingers to 17 percent. Morristown made just one bucket in 21 tries during the first half. For the game, Oldenburg dominated the boards by a count of 36-16.
This was Oldenburg’s third game in five days. They played East Central on Saturday at the Feldhaus. EC won 64-26.
Ryan Selhorst and Carson Pieczonka scored 17 and 15 respectively for the Trojans. Pieczonka had eight rebounds. Selhorst had four boards, four steals and three assists. Grote scored 13 for the Twisters.
