SOUTHEASTERN IN — A GoFundMe page has been set up to help a North Decatur High School senior who was critically injured in a crash earlier this month on I-74 between Batesville and New Point.
Austin Shafer (pictured) is being treated at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, and family and friends are trying to raise funds to help pay his medical bills, therapy, and other expenses.
According to the “Help The Shafer Family” page, Austin underwent emergency skull surgery to ease swelling on the brain and was placed in a medically-induced coma.
In addition to attending classes at North Decatur, Shafer works at McDonald’s in Batesville.
