Batesville and East Central’s swim teams saw both their girls and boys teams together in action Tuesday for the first time this season.
The Bulldogs swam at Connersville. The BHS girls beat Eastern Hancock 89.5-71.5 but lost to Connersville 114-64. The Batesville boys fell to the Royals 106-61 and to the Spartans 91-74.
East Central traveled to Bloomington to take on the South Panthers. The Trojan boys won 111-72 while the EC gals lost 119-65.
Batesville winners included the boys 200 medley relay (1:51.22) with Sean Callahan, Benjamin Moster, William Johnson and Joseph Shroder; Moster in both the 200 IM (2:18.44) and 100 breast (1:07.26); and Lily Wonnell in the 100 free (1:11.42).
East Central winners were: Kaden Cummins in the 200 and 500 frees, Nick Weber in the 50 free and 100 back, Skyler Cavins in the 100 fly, Henry Strotman in the 100 free and all three boys relays.
“Overall, we had some tremendous first-of-the-year swims for a large chunk of our team,” said coach Greg McMullen of his Bulldogs. “For others, we continued to improve, seeing 12 total best times. This number can be a bit deceiving though, as a number of these swims may have just happened a week or so ago. Others, such as Lilly’s 100 free swim have been a long time coming and just prove that we have some great athletes on our team.”
We thank coaches Greg McMulen and Brandon Loveless for the information.
