Clara Bea (Browning) Williams, 94, went to be with her Lord on Monday, November 29, 2021. She was born in Switzerland County, Indiana on November 23, 1927, the daughter of Cleve and Josephine (Bosaw) Browning. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Leroy Jr. Williams, whom she married on January 25, 1947. In 1948, Jr and Bea moved to their farm in Union Township, Ohio County, which was located by her father-in-law’s farm on Woods Ridge. She graduated from Vevay High School in 1946. A few years later, Bea met Jr. at the Aurora Farmers Fair and their life together began. Bea was a person of deep faith and is a lifelong member of the Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ where she served in many capacities for her Lord. Bea was a 50-year member of Eastern Star and a long-time member of the Happy Homemakers Home Ec Club. Bea was a homemaker who took great pride in providing a loving home to her family. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
Bea is survived by her son, Kenny Williams (Darla) of Dillsboro, IN, by her daughters, Connie Smith of Rising Sun, IN, Sandra Gilligan of Cave Creek, AZ, Sharon Barbour (Myron), of Aurora, IN, by her grandchildren, David Williams (Lisa), Matt Williams (Kelly, Elizabeth Turner (Stanley), Dustin White, Curt Williams, Brooke Fredenburgh, Kenna Williams, Mike Smith, and Steven Williams and by her great-grandchildren; Haley Core (Dave), , DJ Williams, Jamie Williams, Jenna Williams, Kennedy Paige Elkins (Ronnie), Lyndon Siekman, Mia Williams, Zayden Williams, Josie Turner, Hank Turner, Chasity Smith, Maddie White, Addy White, and Cash White. Bea is also survived by her brother, Bob Browning, and brothers-in-law, Tom Williams (Mardel) and Terry Williams (Sharon), and by her many nieces and nephews.
Bea was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter, Karen Smith, her grandson, Jason Smith, her granddaughter-in-law, Ann (Penvose) Smith, by her brothers; Bill, Ralph, Don, and Harry Browning, by sisters; Gertrude Drew, Minnie Stevens, Margaret Baker, Katie Turner, Elsie Caseltine, by her sisters-in-law, Grace Browning, Betty Keith (Miller), and Midge Wilson (Chuck).
Graveside services will be held Friday, December 3, 2021, 11:00 AM at the Rising Sun New Cemetery with Brother Don Campbell officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ. Markland Funeral Home of Rising Sun, IN serving the family. marklandfuneralhome.com
