COVID-19 patient volumes go down slightly at Margaret Mary Health

BATESVILLE, IN — Margaret Mary Health (MMH) has seen COVID-19 patient volumes decline slightly this week.

Both Ripley and Franklin counties saw an increase in positivity rates. Ripley County remains in Orange on the state metrics map with a seven-day positivity rate of 11.05%. Franklin County changed to Orange this week with a 10.13% positivity rate.

Decatur County went from Yellow to Orange on the state map, while Dearborn County shifted from Orange back to Yellow.

Due to the stable COVID volumes the hospital has been experiencing since the end of October, the next update will be provided on December 1, and bi-weekly thereafter.  If circumstances change, MMH will provide updates prior to that, as needed.

Twenty-four patients are on the Med/Surg floor, with two patients in the Special Care Unit. Six of the hospital’s patients are COVID-positive. The overall percentage of admitted patients since August 1st who were unvaccinated went up slightly to 86% (Please see chart for more details).

MMH’s testing volumes remained consistent from the previous week. But the positivity rate dropped slightly to 22.5%, with 47 patients testing positive (Please see chart). 

Children ages 5 and older are now able to get an age-appropriate dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.  Vaccine appointments can be scheduled Monday through Friday at the MMH Occupational Health and Wellness Center in Batesville at (812) 932-5105.   Vaccine appointments can also be made Monday through Friday at the MMH Center in Brookville at (765) 647.5126.  Walk-ins are also welcome in Brookville.
