Robert J. Scheidler, 90

Robert J. Scheidler, 90, passed away on November 4, 2021 at his residence in Greensburg. Born, July 20, 1931 in Greensburg, he was the son of Roman J. and Clara (Tebbe) Scheidler. Bob graduated from Greensburg High School. He was married to Jean M. Eder on August 11, 1951 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and she preceded him in death on November 30, 2020. Bob had worked at Union Bank & Trust Co., then started Scheidler Bros. Decorating with his brother Ed, and then went back to banking as President of First Federal Savings & Loan where he retired in 1996. He was actively involved in St. Mary’s Church and School for many years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus as both a 3rd and 4th Degree member. He was active in the community serving on many committees and clubs, including the Greensburg Optimist Club and the Greensburg Daily News Cheer Fund as the County-City Chairman for 45 years.
Bob is survived by seven children; Joanette (Richard) Wright, Greensburg, Roger (Robin) Scheidler, Montana, Lawrence (Janice) Scheidler, Greensburg, Daniel (Diane) Scheidler, Greensburg, Teresa (Tim) Buell, Greensburg, Susan (Tony) Colson, Greensburg, LuAnn (Joe) Cain, Greensburg, two sisters; Doris Kirschner, Marlene Brown, 26 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jean Scheidler, son; Robert Scheidler, Jr., brother, Edgar Scheidler and sister; Martha Doles.
Family and friends will gather at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, November 12, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg to pray the rosary. Visitation will follow until 10:45 am. The funeral mass will start at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Meyer officiating. The funeral mass will be streamed live on the funeral home Facebook page.
