Top local stat leaders from football sectional semifinals

The following are some of the top statistical performances reported from local football programs competing in last Friday’s sectional semifinals.

In East Central’s 52-26 win at Mooresville, the Trojans Josh Ringer carried the ball 30 times for 202 yards and three touchdowns. Ryan Brotherton ran 10 times for 71 and scored twice. Ringer also had two receptions for 67 yards while Brotherton made one catch for 34 and a TD.  Combined, the two players accounted for 374 yards of total offense.

During North Decatur’s 26 to 12 home victory over Milan, the Chargers Reid Messer amassed 254 of the team’s 289 yards on 32 carries. He also found the end zone four times.

For Milan, Brayden Rohrig threw for 118 yards and a touchdown while Logan Reed scored once on 17 carries for 89.

In Lawrenceburg’s 15-7 victory at Greensburg, the Tigers did not complete a single pass but rushed for 313 yards as a team. Luke Pierce ran the rock 30 times for 188 yards and one touchdown. Teegan Bennett had the team’s other score with 17 totes for 93 yards.

Greensburg’s Kaden Acton caught a pass for 84 yards and a TD and also ran for 13 yards giving him 102 on the night.

At Richmond, Connersville’s Cyle Siefert and Gavin Pearson helped lead the Spartans to a 42-36 win over the Red Devils and advanced CHS to its first football sectional championship appearance in program history.  Siefert posted 187 yards rushing and three touchdowns.  Pearson had 233 total yards, passing and rushing, and three TDs.

In Batesville’s 28-14 home loss to undefeated Brownstown Central, Bulldog quarterback Travis Lecher hooked up with Bryson Bonelli for an 84-yard touchdown strike and a 15-yarder to Luke Wilson.
