Mary “Alice” (Hellmich) Hall, 84, passed away at her home on October 29, 2021. She was born on June 14, 1937 in Decatur County, Indiana the daughter of Joseph and Irene Hellmich. Alice was a 1955 graduate of Greensburg Community High School. She married Gerald Hall on November 19, 1955. Together they had 7 children. For many years, she enjoyed being the head bookkeeper for Ranch Super Market. In later years, she was the co-owner of the Corner Market and the Corner Store. Alice was an active Bridge player and was a member of many clubs. She was also a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was active in the bereavement committee. Alice enjoyed spending her time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Teresa “Terri” Suiters (Buddy), David Hall (Marcia Busse), Cheryl Hall, Janet Hall, Marjorie “Margie” Schwering (Jeff), Susan Hall, and Jennifer “Jenny” Madden (Jeff); sister, Grace Ellerman; Sister-in-Law, Rose Hellmich; Grandchildren, Erin Baker (Tyler Williams), Danyelle Miller (Kenneth), Megan Schwering, Jared Schwering (Ashlee), Lilly Madden, and Tyce Madden; and one Great Granddaughter, Savannah Schwering. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald E. Hall, sister, Francis Wolter, brother, Joseph Hellmich Jr., and her parents, Joseph and Irene Hellmich.
A Rosary will be prayed Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home at 3:30 pm. Visitation will follow from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 10:00 am. Father John Meyer will be officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
