Deanna “Dee” Kay Mirick, 76, of Greensburg passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Hospice of Cincinnati. She was born on December 20, 1944 in Batesville, IN, the daughter of the late Roy T and Norma (Lee) Wagner.
She was a 1963 graduate of Milroy High School and went on to graduate from Purdue University with a degree in Business later in life. On July 10, 1965 she married the love of her life, Donald Mirick. They spent 56 wonderful years together. They enjoyed camping and traveling to Florida. She also enjoyed baking, reading, and spending time with her family. She was one lucky lady at the penny slots. She was a 17-year survivor of breast cancer. She started her career at the dress factory in Greensburg. She then spent 34 years at Hill-Rom and retired from there in 2007.
Along with her parents, Deanna was preceded in death by her daughter, Annette “Wimpy” Mirick. Survivors include her husband, Don; sons: Brian (Nancy) Mirick, Mike (Lynnetta) Mirick, and Robert Mirick, all of Greensburg; sister: Susan (Bill) Davison of Bradenton, FL; brother: Richard (Andrea) Wagner of Batesville; grandchildren: Lauren (Dustin) Barkdull, Lee (Lindsey Sutton) Mirick, Christopher and Dillon Mirick, Jacob and Aaron Mirick and 1 great grandson, Dexter Barkdull.
A celebration of life will be held at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home on Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A private burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the New Point Volunteer Fire Department, the Susan G. Komen Foundation or Hospice Foundation of America.
