Franklin County made it to the finals of the Connersville Boys Tennis Sectional but lost 4-1 to championship Rushville Saturday. However, the Wildcats Jack Stirn won at 1 singles and will advance to Richmond in the state’s individual tournament on Tuesday.

“The Lions knocked off the Spartans in conference play at Rushville a couple weeks ago, so our guys were eager to go to Connersville and prove themselves again in the sectional,” said Rushville coach Hollis Heuer. “Our singles play was even more dominant this time around as Hershberger, Smith and Jackman all won in straight sets, eliminating the host Spartans in the opening round.”
