DEARBORN COUNTY, IN — The Dearborn County Plan Commission will hold a series of public workshops to discuss draft updates to the county’s zoning ordinance and zoning map, specifically with respect to the Agricultural and Residential zoning districts.
Both the existing and proposed zoning ordinance text and map will be posted on the Department of Planning & Zoning’s home page for at least the next 45 days at www.dearborncounty.org/planning
An online survey is also available at www.surveymonkey.com/r/DearbornZoning2.
The first public workshop is set for Wednesday, September 30 from 6 until 8 pm at the North Dearborn Library on Dole Road in West Harrison.
The second public workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, October 13 from 4:30 until 6:30 pm at the Dillsboro Town Hall on Executive Drive.
The third and final public workshop will take place on Saturday, October 23 from 10 am until 12 pm in the Ewbank Room at the Lawrenceburg Public Library main branch on Mary Street.
The Plan Commission says regardless of changes that may occur to the Zoning Ordinance or the Zoning Map, the changes made will not affect the taxes that property owners owe or pay because taxes are based on each landowner’s current use of property in association with the State of Indiana’s taxing system, which does not take zoning into account.
Residents and business owners are also encouraged to submit written comments by mail to the Department of Planning and Zoning, 165 Mary St., Lawrenceburg, IN 47025, or by email to [email protected].
