Batesville Middle School Volleyball battled Jennings County Tuesday. The Bulldog 7th grade won in two and improved to 10-0. The 8th grade Bulldogs lost for the first time this season and are now 9-1.
“Jennings County was tough competition, but the Bulldogs rose to the occasion in a well played game,” said 7th grade coach Angie Ehrman whose club won 25-21, 25-13. “The team served 98 percent from the service line. Ella Weber and Caitlyn Fox led all BMS servers with 9 points each. Maddie Haskamp had 6. Brooke Wilhelm chipped in while Alexis Gallagher added 4.”
“The front row was led by strong net play from Haskamp and Ella King who each had a block,” noted Ehrman. “Brooke Wilhelm had 4 kills, Haskamp had 3 while King and Fox each had 1. Strong passing from Eliza Weiler, Alexis Gallagher, Leigh Hertel, Wilhelm and Madi Meyer helped set up the offense.”
Batesville’s 8th grade lost 25-11, 25-14.
“We lost to an aggressive and talented Jennings County team in straight sets,” said 8th grade coach Shelly Prickel. “Reesa Zimmerman earned 5 service points in set two to lead the team. In the front line, Grace Walter had 3 kills, Zimmerman added 2 and Macy Young added 1. Jade Martin had a great block.”
