East Central volleyball had won 16 straight matches over Batesville. That streak was snapped by the Bulldogs Thursday at the Dog Pound when BHS won 25-19. 25-19, 25-20. The last time Batesville beat the Trojans was August 29, 2013.
“We couldn’t find a rhythm,” said East Central coach Cassie Laker. “We were forced to use another new lineup each set due to more adversit, but these girls never quit. They just continue to take the punches life is throwing at us and fight through it. This time, we fell short.”
“Our serving killed our momentum anytime it swung in our favor which led to strong passing for Batesville,” added Laker. “The girls continued to work hard for the scramble balls and didn’t count themselves out until the match was over. We are a young team that continues to grow and improve every day.”
