WESTPORT, IN — Two students at South Decatur Junior/Senior High School tested positive this week for COVID-19.
In a letter to parents, Decatur County Schools Superintendent Jarrod Burns writes the school corporation immediately contacted the Decatur County Health Department as well those who had close contact with the two students who tested positive.
Before they can return to school, those two students will have to quarantine at home for 10 days and be fever-free for 24 hours in accordance with Indiana Department of Health guidelines.
Burns also reminds parents and students to mask up, stay six feet apart from others and that proper sanitizing practices work.
He also urges everyone to keep an eye on their health and monitor for symptoms, and for students who show symptoms to stay home.
