UPDATE: Missing Lawrenceburg teen found safe

UPDATE:  16-year-old Shannon Oney – the girl from Lawrenceburg who was the subject of a Silver Alert issued last week – has been found safe, and the man she voluntarily left home with, is in jail.

Dearborn County Sheriff Shane McHenry says a tip received yesterday led to the location of  Oney and 33-year-old Lamont Giles last night around 9:00 at a home in Oxford, Ohio, by the Oxford Township Police Department.

Oney was returned to Dearborn County, and Giles was booked into the Butler County Jail on a warrant issued in Dearborn County.

“The Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank all who called with information concerning Oney and all who posted on social media,” McHenry said.

Lawrenceburg, IN — A Silver Alert has been issued out of Dearborn County. The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the disappearance of Shannon Oney, a 16-year-old white female, 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 110 pounds, who has blonde hair with blue eyes.

Oney was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants, and black Vans shoes. She is believed to be in the company of Lamont Giles, a 33-year-old biracial male who stands 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs 170 pounds, has brown hair with brown eyes, and driving a white Chevrolet Colorado truck with Ohio license plate HTQ 8117.

Oney is missing from Lawrenceburg and was last seen on Wednesday evening at 6:47 pm. She is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance.
