Bulldogs Capture Boys Track Sectionals At EC-Eagles & Chargers Results

The Batesville Bulldogs Boys really performed at their best tonight with over 20 personal bests, Sectional Champions in 6 different events, 6 different events Sectional Runner ups, 13 of the 16 events moving on to compete at Regionals…all leading to the crowning of the Batesville Bulldogs being the 2021 Sectional Champions out of 13 teams with an impressive score of 150 points to East Central’s 129 points and Franklin County came in 3rd with 101 points.

Team Scores: Batesville 150, East Central 129, Franklin County 101, Greensburg 42, Milan 42, Lawrenceburg 36, South Dearborn 30, Oldenburg 27, Rising Sun 24, South Ripley 14, Jac-Cen-Del 14, North Decatur 12, South Decatur 2.

2020-21 East Central Boys Sectional

Individual Sectional Champions were Benjamin Moster-4 x 800m relay (8:23.11), 1600m run (4:40.4) and 800m run (2:00.58); JJ Kuisel-4 x 800m relay(8:23.11) and 400m dash (49.75); Ean Lochinger-4 x 800m relay (8:23.11) and 3200m run (10:30.45); Daren Smith-4 x 800m relay (8:23.11);  Gabe Gunter-high jump (6’2″).

Sectional Runner up went to Deacon Hamilton-110m hurdles and 300m hurdles; Eli Pierson-200m dash and 4 x 400m relay;  Adam Hollowell-3200m run; Gabe Gunter-pole vault; Benjamin Moster-4 x 400m relay; Vonley Hund-4 x 400m relay; JJ Kuisel-4 x 400m relay.
3rd place finishers were Kurt Siefert-long jump; Will Sherwood-4 x 100m relay; Gabe Gunter-4 x 100m relay; JJ Kuisel-4 x 100m relay; Eil Pierson-4 x 100m relay.
4th places go to Ean Loichinger-1600m run and Daren Smith-800m run.
6th place ribbons were Sam Robben-110m hurdles and 300m hurdles; Eli Pierson-100m dash; Deacon Hamilton-long jump.
7th places went to Willy Sherwood-200m dash; Nate Deputy-discus; Alex Murphy-pole vault.
8th places were Willy Sherwood-100m dash and Vonley Hund-400m dash

Again, just like the girls, to automatically move on to Regional competition next week you needed to place in the top 3 of your event, meet state standards, or be one of the next 4 fastest times feeding into our regionals.  As stated above, Batesville will be competing in 13 of the 16 events next week, with many events having both individuals competing.

They are 4 x 800m relay-JJ Kuisel, Daren Smith, Ean Loichinger, and Benjamin Moster; 4 x 400m relay-Benjamin Moster, Eli Pierson, Vonley Hund and JJ Kuisel; 4 x 100m relay-Willy Sherwood, Gabe Gunter, JJ Kuisel, and Eli Pierson; 110m hurdles-Deacon Hamilton; 300m hurdles-Deacon Hamilton; 200m dash-Eli Pierson; 400m dash-JJ Kuisel; 800m run-Benjamin Moster and Daren Smith; 1600m run-Benjamin Moster; 3200m run-Ean Loichinger and Adam Hollowell; High Jump-Gabe Gunter; Long Jump-Kurt Siefert; Pole Vault-Gabe Gunter.

Yes, it was an amazing night! Congratulations to everyone!  Boys will compete at Warren Central next Thursday in Regional competition fighting for a spot to compete at the State meet.

JCD Varsity Track traveled to East Central for Sectional 24 and tied for 9th place.

Congratulation to Luke Comer for advancing in Discus tied for 2nd with tie-breaker got 3rd.

Other athletes scoring for JCD were Yuki Casado 6th in 400D; Corbin White 8th in Shot and Discus; Christian Comer 5th in High Jump.

Thanks to all the athletes for the great year.  Can’t wait to see Luke throw at Regional at Warren Central.

ND Results.
Congratulations to Ellis Loehmer for advancing to the Warren Central Regional by placing 3rd in the High Jump at the East Central Sectional with a height of 5′ 10″. Ellis also placed 8th in the 300m Low Hurdlers with a time of 45.36, a personal best. Logan Koehne placed 6th in the 200m dash with a time of 34.15 and the 4 x100 relay team placed 7t with a time of 47.48. The relay team was composed of Koehne, Kaden Muckerheide, James Evans, and Conner Linkmeyer.
