The North Decatur Chargers Baseball team had a tough time generating runs on Thursday, dropping their game with The Southwestern Spartans 10-0.
One bright spot for The Chargers was a double by Conner Messer in the first inning.
Matthew Clements led things off on the mound for SW. The ace surrendered zero runs on three hits over six innings, striking out three.
Jacob Mirick was on the hill for ND. The southpaw went four innings, allowing seven runs on nine hits, striking out two, and walking zero. Trent Gauck threw one and two-thirds innings in relief.
Messer led North with two hits in three at-bats.
SW scattered 14 hits in the game. Chancelor Johnson, Clements, Blake Dunbar, and Ethan Wendling all had multiple hits for The Spartans, who didn’t commit a single error in the field. Johnson had four chances in the field, the most on the team.
