In what turned into a soggy Thursday evening, the Franklin County Wildcats defeated the Batesville Bulldogs by a final score of 8 – 2.
The Wildcats started off hot with two runs in the bottom of the first to take the early lead. Then after Batesville tied it in the top of the fourth, Franklin County responded with two runs in the bottom of the fourth off a huge home run from Anne Becker to retake the lead. The Wildcats would continue to add insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth and seventh inning to build up to the final score of 8 – 2.

The Wildcats now sit at 10-7 (5-3 EIAC) on the year. Franklin County’s next game is on Saturday morning when they travel for a varsity-only double-header at New Castle. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 11 AM.
The Franklin County’s JV team picked up a rain-shortened victory over the Batesville Bulldogs by a score of 13 – 0. Rain was present throughout the game and it was called in the bottom of the third inning when it became to heavy to continue.
The Wildcats started off super hot as they put up ten runs in the first inning and never looked back. They showed great patience at the plate, drawing six walks in their two innings of offense. They also put the ball in play with authority and recorded five hits in the two innings.

With the win, the Wildcats improve to 11-3 (7-1 EIAC) on the season. They will be back in action on Monday when they travel to Lawrenceburg for an EIAC battle. Varsity first pitch is scheduled for 5:30 PM and JV game will follow.
