The North Decatur Chargers Baseball team stole the lead late in the game in a 5-2 victory over Edinburgh on Thursday.
The game was tied at two with North batting in the bottom of the sixth when Jacob Mirick tripled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.
The Chargers got things started in the first inning. Trent Gauck grounded out, scoring one run.
In the top of the fifth inning, The Lancers tied things up at two when Mirick got the win for ND. The southpaw lasted seven innings, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out 14.
Gabe Bennett took the loss for The Lancers. The pitcher surrendered five runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out nine.
North totaled seven hits. Mirick, Ty Litmer, and Gauck all managed multiple hits for ND Varsity. Gauck, Litmer, and Mirick each managed two hits to lead The Chargers.
