Arthur Hash, 104, Greensburg, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at his residence.
Born, September 9, 1916 in Jefferson County, Indiana, he was the son of Ernest and Mary (Spicer) Hash.
Arthur enjoyed fishing. He instilled the love of fishing in his daughters and grandchildren. One of his grandsons even named him the “Fish Whisperer.” He enjoyed watching basketball, wrestling, and NASCAR. After he retired from farming, Arthur grew beautiful flowers and kept up on community news. He was known throughout the community “as the best molasses cookie maker in the country.”. He enjoyed spending time his children and grandchildren and shared a wealth of information. He was the oldest member of the Springhill Presbyterian Church in which he was very active for many years. He was married to Virginia (Wainscott) Hash on May 5, 1939, and she preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughters, Katherine J. Cox, Bedford and Sandy Wilhoit, Edwardsburg, Michigan. Four grandchildren, Jennifer (Steve) Hileman, Ethan Cox, Sean (Jama) Cox, Aaron (Barbara) Wilhoit, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, Son-In-Law, Kenneth Cox, and all of his brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 19, 2021, from 10-12 at Springhill Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will follow at noon. Burial will be at Springhill Cemetery in Decatur County.
