The 5th grade St. Louis Lady Cardinals traveled to Laurel last night for basketball. We brought home the victory with a final score of 32-2.
Scoring for SLS were Ava Becker with 8pts, Jersey Trenkamp and Hailee Weisenbach with 6pts each, Maggie Tekulve and Grace Copley with 4pts each, and MaryKara Wanstrath and Aubrey Baker scoring 2pts each.
These ladies were all able to score points for the team due to teamwork and running plays. We were able to take a strong lead with fast breaks and slowed it down to work on setting up plays. Nice job ladies, you have a season record of 6-0!

The St. Louis 6th Grade Lady Cardinals improved to 6-0 on the season with a physical battle over Laurel. The Lady Cardinals once again used defense and ball movement on their way to a 24-4 victory.
The Lady Cardinals were lead in scoring by Gina Grote with 9 points. Belle Young added 6 and Jersey Trenkamp had five. This was a very physical game and I was very proud of how the team keeps their composure with they were faced with some very difficult situations. I am also very proud of how the team plays for one another and tries to get everyone involved.
The final game of the season will be next Thursday night versus St. Nicholas at Oldenburg Academy’s new Feld Haus. The 5th grade starts at 6 pm.

The 7th-Grade Bulldogs fell to a good Greensburg team last night. The Ladies improved on rebounding, defensive pressure, and looking to score.

The 8th Grade Lady Bulldogs lost to a very talented Greensburg team last night, 64-16.
Lots of energy and fight in the 4th quarter by the Bulldogs. The next game is at Rushville on Monday. Good luck Bulldogs!

The St. Louis 5th grade girls hosted their last home game of the season. With a final score of 20-3 for the night.
Scoring for SLS were Hailee Weisenbach with 10pts, Aubrey Baker with 4pts, and Jersey Trenkamp, MaryKara Wanstrath and Ava Becker all with 2pts each. All of these ladies did a great job on defense and working on our offensive plays. Nice job ladies.
We will play again Thursday at Laurel. We are going strong with a season record of 5-0.

The St. Louis 6th Grade Lady Cardinals played a hard-fought game versus the Greendale Lady Tigers Tuesday Night winning 21-10.
The Lady Cardinals jumped out to an early lead behind Gina Grote who had 6 of her team high 8 points in the first quarter. The Lady Tigers got back into the game with a late three-pointer to cut the lead to three at 8 to 5 after the first quarter. St. Louis used a balanced 9-2 run to take a 17 to 10 halftime lead capped by Olivia Leising buzzer-beating 3 pointer. The Lady Cardinals switched defense in the second half and picked up the intensity to hold Greendale scoreless. The final was 21-10 Lady Cardinals.
This improves their record to 5-0 on the season. Riley Siegel helped seal the game with 6 points and a bunch of big steals. Belle Young added 4 points as well. The Lady Cardinals will play their first road game of the year as they take on Laurel Thursday night with the 5th Grade starting at 5:30 pm with the 6th Grade to follow.

The 7th Grade Lady Bulldogs fell to Sunman-Dearborn last night 33-6. Leading the scoring for the dogs was Grace Walter with 6. We will be back in action Thursday at Greensburg.

The 8th Grade Batesville Girls Basketball falls short to Sunman Dearborn, 28-24. After a slow start, the lady Bulldogs fought their way back into the game, with intense defensive pressure, but couldn’t execute enough on the offensive end to pull out the win. Leading rebounders were Aly Peters with 9 and Sophie Gesell with 5. Next game is Thursday at Greensburg. Good luck Bulldogs!
