Next stage of of COVID-19 vaccine opens Friday

Statewide — Starting Friday at 9 am, seniors 80 years old or over will be able to register for the next group of people in Indiana that are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. As of yesterday, this population makes up 257,324 or 3.8% of the population that have been infected, 19.6% of COVID-19 hospitalizations, and 52.3% of COVID-19 deaths across the state.

Starting at 9 am on Friday, you can go to ourshot.in.gov and follow these steps to register:
• Click the link to go to the registration site.
• Enter your zip code to see a map of vaccination clinics.
• Register yourself or an eligible person using their name.
• Person receiving the vaccination must bring photo identification to the appointment.
• A Family member may make appointments for a senior.
• Vaccinations are free.

Also starting Friday, Hoosiers can call 2-1-1 to get assistance registering for the vaccination over the phone. They can also offer information on how to set up rides to and from appointments. 2-1-1 is open from 8 am to 8 pm Monday through Friday. There will be a vaccination location available in every county, hospital or not according to officials.
